A little rain with mild temperatures, but really a good day to shoot at the Springs Rod & Gun Club range. Since the range faces south, bright sun produces shadows on targets, halos on sights and generally makes it tough to shoot good scores on bright sunny days.
Surprisingly, we had all thirty caliber rifles on the line today, no mouse guns. Is that the start of a trend?
Dave Shaw, a junior, shot a very nice 400 with a 03A3. A little work on the rapid series will help him do even better. I admire a good bolt gun shooter!
Terry Sadler came with a no drill, bolt on peep sight on his SKS – interesting!
This was the last match of 2010 at the SR&GC. We plan to change our match days to the first Sunday of the month next year. The February match will remain at the end of the month in the hope of warmer weather. Our present schedule seems to conflict with scheduled events at several other clubs so we will see what we conflict with on the first Sunday of the month. Once we finalize the schedule we will email it out.
Dave and I thank all the guys who came to our Matches this year. Without you we wouldn’t have the fun we always have even when we don’t shoot as well as we would like. Shooters are a good bunch!
