We were blessed with a cold east wind well into the afternoon so everybody shivered a bit.  This was our first attempt to hold an afternoon relay to see if that would drawn more shooters.  It did, it but makes a long day for the hired help. We are pleased to have had a morning relay of six shooters followed by an afternoon relay of nine shooters.

Nobody shot real well, the wind was a factor and the bright sun coming from in front of the shooters didn’t help either.  Mike Jobe shot the best slow prone score of the day with his 03A3 and I managed the worst rapid prone score of the day.  What do they say about the elevator and the shaft?  Jim Flick and Bart Wineland tied for the top score of the day – with the same X count, no less.  They can shoot it off next month.

Dave Dunkle asked me to apologize to Mike Lewis for having him shoot the national match targets in his first match – we usually don’t do that to new shooters.

Dave also asked that I tell you new shooters that you should practice and come to the match with your sights zeroed.  There are practice targets in the old clubhouse, just go in and take what you need and go out and practice.  Often there is somebody practicing the Saturday before a match.

The club thanks all of you that came out and shot.  The next match is April 27, 2008.  We will be again running a relay at 9 AM and another at 1:30 PM.  An additional relay can be added right after the morning relay if needed.
