A cool morning - it is September, however it warmed up and became a very nice day. Of the eight shooters on the first relay Dan Gruver showed the way home with a 436-5X on the National Match Target. That score held up for the high score for the day. Todd Burr, shooting his first match, shot a respectfull 411-6X. Of course his son had to post a 430-4X to best him. As usual there was a lot of good spirited kidding, that is what makes target shooting so much fun.

The targets were in the shadows which made the shooting a bit tough. Later in the fall we may see some white stuff which often makes things tougher yet.

Next month there will be the regular monthly match the first Sunday of the month and the Terry Williams Bolt Gun Match the following Sunday. We are considering making the bolt gun match a four position slow-fire match so guys can use “deer rifles”. To get your name on the trophy you must shoot a bolt gun. That doesn't mean you can't shoot any rifle you wish. It just means you have to use the bolt gun to compete for the trophy.

Thanks for coming.

Pete
