A little brisk for April and with snow too. Obviously the weather scared some people away. The scores don't show that any major difficulties were encountered due to the weather. In fact the scores were pretty good. Nate Hunter and John Kolacz tied at 429 and in X's so their off hand stage scores decided the winner of the service rifle class. It was Nate! Bart continues to poke them in there with his AR in .22 rim fire With ammo costs going up, even if you reload, it looks like there is future for the old .22 rim fire at least on the 100 yard range.

Now for a little story: Back in the fall we found some 8mm brass on the range that had a peculiar dent in the same place on each piece of brass giving the indication that it was fired in some kind of semi auto. We puzzled over what semi auto fired 8mm ammo? Well, today a German G41_ appeared for us to look over. Mystery solved! And there are at least two of them around. Very interesting rifles.

The next match is on May 1, 2016. I hope to see better weather.

Thanks again,

Pete & Dave
