Springs Rod and Gun Club. Dave Dunkle was the only competitor in the
National Match class, so he won that with a 442-6x with his .22 long rifle
conversion AR15 with scope.
Nate Hunter won the Service Rifle class with a 461-11x using his
centerfire AR15 with scope in .223 Eli Whitmore was back after a long
absence and shot a very respectable 444-2x with his AR with Iron sights in
.223. Dan Gruver and Gary Kuffer upheld the Big Gun legacy with their Iron
sighted M1 Garands in 30-06 caliber.
Although it started out pretty cold this morning, it turned into a beautiful
fall day and everyone enjoyed being outside at the range.
As a reminder, the Springs Rod and Gun Club will be hosting our annual
Bolt Gun Match next Sunday, October 11th, on our 100yd. range. Once again,
the gates open at 8:00 am with first shots fired at 9. The match consists
of 10 slow fire shots each: Standing, Kneeling, Sitting and Prone, plus
sighter shots. Hope to see you there!
